Day 4: Lose 8lbs in 6 Days!

Day 4: Wednesday, March 6, 2013
Weight: 133.0lbs – loss of 0.8lbs

 I only got 4 hours of sleep today and then lay awake in bed, pretty much, from 1pm to 5:45pm. I’m sure this was a factor in my dismally small amount of weight loss today. (I expected so much more!) I was not pleased with myself and knew that I had to step it up if I wanted to guarantee that I reach my goal by Saturday. I’m concerned because I won’t have time to exercise on Friday, so I pretty much need to be there by Friday morning, just in case. (always have a buffer!)

I don’t work a graveyard tonight, so that meant no planned exercise tonight. In fact, the plan was to go back to bed at 10pm so I could be up early for my early work day tomorrow morning – but that didn’t happen. I decided that I needed to go to the gym to burn some calories tonight, to ENSURE that I lose enough weight by tomorrow morning to get me back on track. However, when I got up today (first, at 4pm), my head was spinning with a headache (detox, again), and I couldn’t even walk to my scale in a straight line, let alone get dressed to go to the gym. So I went back to bed then to rest my head and then finally did get up at 5:45pm and felt a lot better.

Went to the gym at 9pm with the intention of doing 60 minutes of cardio on the AMT machine. However, I was sooo tired on the machine (that is, my body is very noticeably weak), that I really felt that I couldn’t (and wouldn’t) push myself to 60 minutes, after I got started. At 33 minutes in, I decided to push myself until 40 minutes and decided to be happy with that. But then I pushed it to 45 minutes, and then, finally, to 50 minutes – and then I was done with it! It was a totally hard workout and I was satisfied enough with my effort: 405 calories for 50 minutes.

At home this evening I’ve been working on my green juice from 2 days ago (wanted to drink it before it goes bad), and I’m only 2/3 of the way through it now, and it’s time for bed (after 11pm), so that will be it for the day. I have an early day tomorrow, so I need to try to get enough rest tonight so that the weight loss fairies will be able to do their job tonight while I sleep. I am REALLY hoping for 131 tomorrow. If not, I’ll be really disappointed!

Oh, just a quick note: regarding how to calculate calories for juicing (online, on, which is a great calorie counting tool that I use), after doing a bit of research online tonight, I’ve discovered that it’s a safe bet to just indicate the calories for the vegetable and fruits that I’ve juiced as if they were whole and raw. Apparently, it’s the sugars and juice that all the calories are in anyways, and not the unused fibre. So that’s how I’ll be tracking that. Just for the record, my green juice today consisted of: 2 apples, a cucumber, a ½ bulb of fennel, 3 celery stalks, 2 handfuls of spinach, a few leaves of kale, half a lemon, and 1” of ginger root. It’s SO delicious – I highly recommend it!
